Dr. Mimi Cowan
Mimi was born, raised, and educated in Naperville, Illinois and has spent her career in the arts and education.
Since graduating from North Central College with a B.A. in Music and Speech Communication, she has lived in six different American cities and also Galway, Ireland, where she completed her Master's Degree.
Mimi moved back to northern Illinois in 2010, while finishing her doctoral dissertation (History, Boston College) on Irish and German immigrants in nineteenth-century Chicago. She has taught at Boston College, Lake Forest College, and North Central College, and also worked as a special ed assistant in the Naperville public schools.
Mimi is running for Will County Board because she knows and loves her community. “I know that we are a community of moderates," she explains, "who see the value in a long-term, financially stable plan that includes adequate funding for the services and infrastructure that make our area such a great place to live and raise our families. I will protect this shared vision, while making sure Naperville residents of Will County see the benefits of their tax dollars.”
